Welcome to Day 4 of our
#5Days2MyBlog online training.
And thank you for keeping
on with the program so far.
Yesterday you created your
blog through our instrumentation, today we are going to fine tune the blog with
a view to getting it set to be launched.
So, here we go:
Each blog has two sections
The Frontend
The Backend
The frontend is that which
is visible to all those who visit the blog. So when people click on
http://internetbizcreator.blogspot.com, what they see is the frontend of our
blog.
The backend is the section
that is accessible only to you - the blog owner and whoever else you give
authority to.
It is from the backend
that the frontend is fed because it is from the backend that you can update
your blog, edit and posts, design, configure e.t.c.
Having said that, let's
then go back to the blog.
So you log in
http://blogger.com and enter your login details (gmail address and password).
The login takes you
directly to your blog's dashboard
On the top left side is
Blogger logo with the name Blogger beside it and far right is your domain name.
Immediately after, is your domain names blogs, then following it is
On the left - New Blog
In the centre - your title
name
on the far left - view
blog
A little after your title
name at the centre is a tab with oencil like object in it, when you click on
that, it will taje you direct to the dialogue for writing a new post.
Beside that pencil like
object is a drop down menu which if you hover your mouse over it will show you
other tabs available

Pages
Comments
Google+
Stats
Earnings
Campaign
Layout
Template
Settings
The 4th row of tabs in the
reading list on the left and then dwon there is Blogger Buzz
To Configure your blog:
1. Click on Settings > Basic
You would see
Title-------------- fill
in your domain name
Description - ----- fill
in your one sentence super-executive summary of what your blog is all about
Privacy ------ leave it as
it is (listed on blogger, visible to search engines)
Publishing
---- Blog Address
--------- as before
Permission
-------Blog Authors
--------- fill in your name and email address
Blog Reader -----------
leave it as written (Public)
After filling in, look to
the top far right of your blog and click on "save settings"
2. Click on Posts and Comments
Posts
Show at most ----- posts
on the main page (fill in 7)
Post template -- leave it
as it is
Showcase images with light
box ----- leave it as it is (yes)
Comments
Comment locator embedded
--- leave it as it is
Who can comment ----- fill
in everyone
Comment moderation ----
fill in never
Show word verification --
leave it as it is (yes)
Comment form message ---
click on add
Again click on save
settings to save the modifications you have made
3. Click on Mobile and Email
Posting using sms/mms ----
if you want to post to your blog by sms/mms then indicate the mobile device
Posting using email - if
you want to post to your blog using email write up then indicate the email
address
Comment notification email
- fill in your gmail address
Email posts to ----fill in
your email address
Again click on save
settings to save the modifications you have made
4. Click on other
Blog tools ---- import
blog, export blog, delete blog
(Through these links, you
can import another blog content into yours or export yours to another; you can
also download your blog onto your desktop or transfer it to another host and
you can also delete the blog when you get tired of it
Site feed
Allow blog feed ----- Full
(change it to short)
Again click on save
settings to save the modifications you have made
Now, click on view blog
(on the top left side of your blog) to see what your blog looks like
Day 4 ends here
Today, you now have your
blog ready for further modifications and for commencement of creating and
posting on it
Assignment
Submit your blog url here
before 12 noon tomorrow 17.04.15
