Armed Bandits Kill 3 Delta Travelers – Armed bandits in Ogwashi-uku community close to Asaba, Delta State attacked an automobile conveying passengers from Ogwashi-uku to Ubulu-uku, killed 3 of the passengers while two other individuals escaped.

Driver of the industrial vehicle whose name could not be immediately ascertained as at the time of this report, told the police in Ogwashi-uku, where they had escaped to, that the armed robbers had laid siege to the Adonte/Ogwashi-uku link road when they ran into them.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the robbers shot into their car from a close range as they got to the point exactly where they laid ambush, leaving the three passengers dead on the spot while other passengers struggled to escape.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Celestina Kalu, confirmed that the robbers soon after killing the passengers, made away with the passengers belongings.

According to her, efforts are on leading gear to bring them to book.

Decrying the frequent robbery cases along Ogwashi-uku, Ubulu-uku road, Kalu mentioned more policemen have been deployed to the region to safeguard the lives of travellers.

She mentioned that the corpses of the victims have been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre Mortuary Asaba, whilst the injured ones were taken to the hospital for treatment.
